The costumes of the Insular region of Colombia are characterized by being a very colorful and simple clothing that varies according to the occasion and the folk dance that is performed.
For this reason, each of the typical dances such as the calypso, the shottish, the mento, the mazurka, the jumping polka or the cuadrilla, has a typical costume in particular.

1- Mento suit
The costumes for Caribbean-influenced dances are elegant, like ballroom dancing, but simpler.

The man wears pants and a denim jacket, which is combined with a generally white shirt, although color is also used.
The typical hat is made of felt or jipa, he wears espadrilles and sometimes uses black patent leather ankle boots.
5- Suit of the
This dance is of European origin and has been assimilated in the Colombian Insular region. The female costume is a flared dress that has a ruffle at the bottom and a shawl or manila shawl on the shoulders.
The man wears black pants that he combines with a white shirt. He also wears a small plaid gray vest and cap.
6- Suit
For these dances of English or European influence, the costumes are more elegant, luxurious and decorated, but with some variations with respect to the original costumes used in these dances.
The ladies wear a cotton dress with three-quarter or long sleeves to the wrist and a bloomers.
The blouses are high-necked and the front is adorned with high and showy lace, ribbons and ribbons.
The skirt is worn to the ankle and is divided into two parts; it is also decorated with lace and ribbon bows. They wear closed-heeled shoes.
