The national human rights documents in Mexico are numerous, since this country is affiliated with multiple international treaties related to the subject of Human Rights.
Among these documents can be found that of the American Convention on Human Rights together with its Additional Protocol on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

Thanks to these documents, in Mexico sentences such as the Death Penalty have been abolished. Issues related to Freedom of the Press, Forced Disappearance of Persons and Torture have also been discussed (HUMANOS, 2015).
Thus, some of the national documents on Human Rights in Mexico include the Convention on the Status of Foreigners, the Declaration for the Recognition of Contentious Jurisdiction and the Inter-American Convention on Forced Disappearance, among other numerous agreements, treaties and conventions.

The main national document that ensures the protection of Human Rights in Mexico is the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.
Thanks to the reform that was introduced in this document in 2011, all the Human Rights treaties that had been previously signed were endorsed and included in the constitution.
Thus, within the first article of the constitution, it is provided that all people in Mexico have the right to enjoy the Human Rights recognized by the Constitution and the international treaties to which it is a party.
In the same way, it offers protection to the civilian population on every occasion that these rights are violated.
It can be said that what the Constitution of Mexico establishes in matters of Human Rights is comparable to what is indicated in the treaties and documents signed by the State of Mexico.
For this reason, it is considered that the most complete document that speaks of Human Rights in Mexico is the State Constitution.
