1- Leticia
Leticia is the capital of the department of Amazonas, in southern Colombia. It borders the Brazilian municipality of Tabatinga and is an important economic exchange center between the two countries.
15 minutes from the city is the Flor de Loto Nature Reserve. It is also called Victoria Amazónica or Victoria Regia.
The center of the city is merely urban. In its surroundings, the city is inhabited by various indigenous groups, a vast jungle fauna, multicolored birds and various reptiles.
2- Puerto Nariño
It is the second most important municipality in the department of Amazonas. The most common access to Puerto Nariño is fluvial, from the Amazon River, although there are also jungle trails that communicate with indigenous communities.
20 minutes from Puerto Nariño is located in Lake Tarapoto, one of the favorite places for tourists for the easy observation of the pink and gray dolphins of the Amazon.
In its vicinity live the Ticuna and Yagua indigenous tribes.
3- Amacayacú National Park
It is located in the department of Amazonas, and covers part of the Leticia and Puerto Nariño municipalities, with more than 293,000 hectares of surface.
It is one of the favorite destinations for ecotourism, given the biodiversity of the sector.
You can also have direct contact with the indigenous cultures that make life in the town of San Martín.
Some of the activities that take place in the Amacayacú National Park are the sale of handicrafts, canoe rides, a tour of the "Jungle Trail" and the observation of Amazonian dolphins.
4- Island of the Micos
This peculiar attraction is located 35 kilometers north of Leticia, opposite the village of Santa Sofía.
It has an area of 450 hectares full of monkeys, alligators and typical birds of the region.
One of the favorite activities of visitors is feeding the monkeys. There are also canoe rides to Lake Tucuchira, where artisanal fishing is practiced.
5- Tanimboca Nature Reserve
The Tanimboca Nature Reserve is located 11 kilometers from Leticia, on the road to Tarapacá.
It is equipped to provide accommodation to its visitors; in addition, it offers the possibility of practicing ecotourism and adventure tourism.
Among the services it offers, the overnight stay in a tree cabin or on the edge of the creek, zip line, tree climbing and day and night walks into the jungle stand out.
You also have the possibility of observing the endemic flora and fauna of the Colombian Amazon.
