The manifestations of the holy spirit express a supreme spiritual reality, identified as the power, energy, force or action of God to carry out his will.

With multiple interpretations and with different conceptions according to each theological school, the holy spirit is one of the essential protagonists of the Bible, the sacred book of Catholicism.

For religions like Catholicism it is the active force of God that is expressed in the form of power and authority in the devotees of Christ.

He is usually represented in the shape of a dove since according to the gospel: “Jesus came out of the water; and then the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending in the form of a dove and coming upon him ”(Saint Matthew 3:16).

The holy spirit is also the third person of the trinity, which is completed by God the father and God the son (Jesus Christ). There are different discussions about this conception, related to the origin of that person, his name and above all if it is the presence of God or not. However, the unanimity among the various confessions of Christianity for the most part gives the Holy Spirit the origin to God.

Broadly speaking, four aspects can be identified in relation to the Holy Spirit referred to as follows:

• For the modalists they correspond to a divine, impersonal force or quality.
• For the Arians, the holy spirit has a spiritual identity reference of a lofty character but which it endows with the condition of an angelic creature.
• The tritheists conceive the holy spirit as another God, inferior to the main one.
• For Trinitarians, which corresponds to Catholic Christianity, he is a divine person.

Manifestations of the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible

1- Luke 11: 9-13

«And I say to you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to the one who calls, it opens. And which father of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or, if a fish, instead of a fish, will he give him a snake? (…) ».

This quote from the apostle Luke can be taken as a reference to the holy spirit as the strength and will of God. According to the text, he will respond if you cry out, he will be there to help and teach those who need him when everything seems finished and the horizon is dark.

In this sense, the holy spirit is a force that is asked and asked to help the believer even if he cannot see it.

2- John 14: 16-18

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter to be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him, you do know him because he dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you (…) ».

Perhaps one of the verses that is most controversial for its misinterpretations. Here, according to theologians, John speaks of God as the Comforter who, although he cannot be seen, is always present.

3- Acts 19: 6

“And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. There were about twelve men in all. And when Paul entered the synagogue, he spoke boldly for three months, arguing and persuading about the kingdom of God (…) ».

In this passage the manifestation of the holy spirit refers to obedience to God's word to enter his kingdom and be saved through experience.

4- Romans 8:26

“And in the same way, the Spirit also helps us in our weakness; because we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes with unspeakable groans ”.

In this passage there is a manifestation of the holy spirit that transcends the force or powerful attitude of God.

5- Corinthians 2: 9-10

“A thing that the eye did not see, nor the ear heard, nor have the things that God has prepared for those who love him have entered the heart of man. But God revealed to us through the Spirit, because the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

In this verse of the Bible, the manifestation of the holy spirit is in all men because it is the only one who can know all their thoughts.

6- Ephesians 2: 1

«And he gave life to you, when you were dead in your trespasses and sins (…)». In this biblical passage the holy spirit is a feeling that goes through men, whose life is his work.

7- Titus 3:

"He saved us, not by works of justice that we had done, but by his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and by the renewal in the Holy Spirit, which he poured out in us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior."

One of the passages in the Bible that contain great truth about the building of faith. God is the Savior, benign, owner of all grace and the perfect gift and the holy spirit his way.

8- Acts 2:38

«Peter said to them: Repent, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit ”.

In this short verse of the sacred canonical book there is also the contradiction of believing that salvation is given in baptism. According to theologians, it is an error to believe in it, since the Bible is clear that salvation is only through the grace of faith in Jesus Christ.

«But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such things there is no law, ”says the Bible about the holy spirit.

In this biblical passage it is revealed that the fruit of the holy spirit, as God's force, is not instantaneous but does arrive permanently, entering the subconscious and unconscious of the person. There in that place where no man can reach will be the divine presence.

The fruit of the holy spirit cleanses, corrects and reorients man, who can and should only collaborate with faith and belief in him.

10- Romans 8:

“For if you live according to the flesh, you must die; But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Because all those who are guided by the Spirit of God, such are children of God (…) ».

In this verse of the Bible, Romans takes a turn to speak of Christians and equip them as continuators of God's work on earth. The holy spirit manifests itself in this sacred passage as a force that gives man the necessary security through consciousness.
