It is the third most important port in Mexico, which has made this point a fishing, agro-tourism and commercial area.
The beaches are famous for their white sands, gentle waves, and a good range of services. The main beaches in Puerto Vallarta are: Playa de los Muertos, Conchas Chinas, Playas Gemelas and Boca de Tomares.
Guachimontones
It is a pre-Hispanic settlement located west of Guadalajara. It consists of a ceremonial construction with interesting architecture.
It has about 90 hectares of extension and today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is made up of a central altar, a patio, a central bench and several funerary crypts.
The building is made of stone and earth. Its importance is both archaeological and anthropological.
Guadalajara's cathedral
Also known as the Basilica Cathedral of the Asunción de María Santísima, it is the seat of the Archdiocese of Guadalajara.
It was built in 1541 with adobe and straw. Despite its current condition, it is still an important historical monument to visit both for its religious relevance and its neo-Gothic characteristics.
Throat cut theatre
It is an important property located in Guadalajara, headquarters of the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra. It was built in the 19th century in a neoclassical style. It has been the scene of concerts of opera, ballet, theater and recitals by established artists.
It has a capacity of 1015 seats and an Italian-style setting. It owes its name to its main promoter Santos Degollado, a Mexican politician and military man.
Historic Center of San Miguel el Alto
It is an important architectural, urban and tourist complex located in the Metropolitan Area of Tepatitlán de Morelos.
It was declared a National Heritage of Mexico in 2001. It has a vibrant social dynamic composed of urbanizations, churches, shops and institutions that give it an outstanding tourist attraction.
