The attractions of Colima are incredibly varied and include such exotic landscapes like the beach, snow, archaeological sites and volcanoes.
One of its main cities, Manzanillo, is home to three bays that have great tourist and commercial importance, not only for the state, but for all of Mexico.
Although beaches are the main reason that attract tourists to Colima, other natural and cultural wonders are just as popular.
Gastronomic tourism can be observed in the so-called Coffee Route, which consists of visiting several towns where coffee is made by hand.

Attractive places for sightseeing in Colima
Several towns in Colima have had the support of the Mexican government in recent years to boost their tourism potential.
Colima is a region of great contrasts whose economy grows every year due to tourism.
Manzanillo
The city of Manzanillo is the tourist center of the state of Colima due to its coastal activity, which attracts thousands of tourists.
Beaches like La Boquita, Miramar or Las Brisas offer paradisiacal views of white sand and crystal clear waters.
Likewise, the city center is full of shopping centers, restaurants and luxury hotels. The aquatic ecosystems give rise to sweet and salty lagoons, which are home to exotic fauna such as iguanas and crocodiles.
The gastronomy of the place is one of the best in Mexico. Being a coastal area, the most popular dishes are usually fish, ceviches, shellfish, crustaceans and cocktails.
Volcanoes
In the state there is a lot of volcanic activity, its main exponent being the Volcán de Fuego de Colima. In the surroundings of the main crater, lagoons and other landscapes have formed that attract adventurers.
There is also the Nevado de Colima Volcano, an ancient extinct volcanic massif that is more than 4 thousand meters high.
An abundant part is covered with snow, creating tundra ecosystems where deer, pumas and eagles inhabit.
Archaeological zones
Although Colima is not particularly famous for its archaeological sites, it has two that are very popular with tourists. They are about Chanal and La Campana.
El Chanal consists of the ruins of an ancient human settlement of about 700 years ago, famous for the large number of public places it has, such as squares, patios and altars.
La Campana is an archaeological site whose center is a pyramid surrounded by several small but very advanced constructions for its time (1500 years BC), such as avenues, drains, and a religious center.
El Salto Waterfall
It is a waterfall several tens of meters high formed in solid rock. In its surroundings there are numerous spas such as Tampumachay, Agua Fría and Los Amiales, as well as several hotels and restaurants.
In the vicinity of the waterfall is the magic zone, a slightly inclined road where you can see a visual effect that gives the impression that the objects defy gravity, when “going up” despite being on a slope.
Coffee Route
From the Yerbabuena community, located a few kilometers from the source of the Colima volcano, the route of the coffee route takes place.
This allows tourists to visit various towns where coffee is made entirely by hand.
Colima's soil, being volcanic, is extremely fertile, which is why some of the best coffee in Mexico is produced.
The coffee route also includes hikes on the slopes of the volcano and the famous La María lagoon, an ancient volcanic caldera.
