The economic activities Guanajuato are concentrated in tertiary activities, representing 57.5% of one total. In second place, there are secondary activities with 39%.
Thus, it is observed that the primary sector does not have a strong presence in this Mexican state. These figures correspond to the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) of the Aztec nation.

According to official figures, commerce (15.4% of state GDP) is one of the main economic activities in Guanajuato.
This is followed by real estate services and rental of movable and intangible assets with 11.5%, and construction with 9.0%.
In addition, taking into account the economic indicators, some of the municipalities that stand out are León, Irapuato, Celaya, Salamanca, San Francisco del Rincón, Guanajuato, Moroleón and San Miguel de Allende.
Commerce
Trade in Guanajuato is practiced both wholesale and retail. In the León municipality, for example, the wholesale trade of agricultural and forestry raw materials, for industry, and waste materials stands out.
In this and other municipalities, retail commercial operations of groceries, food, beverages, ice and tobacco are carried out. The retail trade of textiles, jewelry, clothing accessories and footwear is also common.
Real estate and personal property rental services
This economic activity has been gaining ground in recent years.
By 2014, it contributed 3.8% of the state GDP. Currently, it ranks second, accounting for 11.5%.
Construction of civil engineering works
This state is characterized by the beauty of its architecture. The predominant styles, especially in the capital city, are colonial.
The construction sector in Guanajuato is one of those that contributes the most to the state economically.
Manufacture
The manufacturing industry is important in this state. For example, in the municipalities of León and San Francisco del Rincón, leather, leather and substitute materials are manufactured.
Irapuato stands out for the manufacture of metal products. In Celaya, they produce accessories, electrical appliances, electrical power generation equipment, and transportation equipment.
