The most densely populated regions in the world are those in which the proportion of inhabitants per km 2 of land area is high. The most prominent are Mumbai, Tokyo and Lagos.
The regions were selected based on population density and not on the number of inhabitants. In other words, an average of inhabitants per km 2 is carried out and not of the total inhabitants of the city.
The most densely populated cities are usually the main financial centers, thus creating greater job opportunities.
This motive promotes interest in emigrating to those cities, and that is the reason why there is more population in them.
Along with population density is often the problem of contamination.
